New Delhi: Controversial striker, Luis Suarez could make a surprise return to England after his limited success in Spain and the growing unrest in Barcelona ranks.
The Catalan giants signed the Uruguayan from English Premier League (EPL) club Liverpool last year for an estimated figure of £75million.
The 27-year-old, however, failed to lit up the imposing Camp Nou and has already been labelled a flop in Spain. In contrast, Suarez scored at will during his Anfield days and helped the Reds restore some lost pride.
And now, all the top clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and United are reportedly monitoring the striker for a possible swoop this transfer window.
Despite the high expectations, he has managed to score only three goals in 12 Barcelona appearances since returning from four-month ban. He was sent-off during the Uruguay-Italy clash following a biting incident involving Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
In between, Barcelona themselves are going through a tough time thanks to internal feuds. Their sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta was sacked on Monday and Carles Puyol too resigned soon after. The legendary defender was working as an assistant to Zubizarreta.
Besides, the club is also serving a year-long transfer ban for illegal signing of under-age players, and the rumours of divisions between star player Lionel Messi and boss Luis Enrique are rife.
