London: Sergio Aguero`s goal ensured Louis van Gaal`s first Manchester derby ended in defeat as Manchester City beat 10-man Manchester United 1-0 at Eastlands on Sunday.
FULL TIME: Manchester City 1-0 Manchester United
90+2' - Sir Alex Ferguson looks on from the stands.
90' - Five minutes of stoppage time announced by the assistant ref.
88' - Yaya with a magnificent turn and a curling shot that had De Gea scrambling across goal. Just wide!
86' - United have shown great resolve and determination to hold on here. The Red Devils have looked like scoring in the dying minutes of this match.
84' - Di Maria's corner is met by Fellaini with a header. The Belgian was under pressure and could not direct his header. This match is not over yet!
82' - Fernandinho comes on for the goalscorer Aguero.
78' - United with two chances - first, Rooney's run created a chance for Di Maria's whose weak left foot was saved by Hart. Then, Fellaini missed an open header off a long ball. He completely missed the header and shouldered the ball instead.
75' - City are bombing the United goal. Last minutes tackles, blocks and deflections are keeping them at bay. The second goal appears to be on it way anytime.
72' - Robin van Persie with individual brilliance makes it to the byline and fires in a shot from a difficult angle; Hart saves.
69' - Pellegrini has rung in the changes. He takes off Milner and Jovetic for Nasri and Dzeko.
65' - Yaya's lovely through ball found Clichy behind United's backline. The left-back's cross was blasted in by Aguero with this left foot.
63' - GOAL! Aguero breaks the deadlock
60' - City continue to press leaving some gaps at the back. Di Maria burst forward and was taken down by Demichelis. Free-kick.
58' - Another big shout for penalty turned down against United by the ref. Fellaini challenged Aguero for the ball inside the box. The striker went down as the two came together.
55' - United's backline is now - Luke Shaw, Paddy McNair, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia. Talk about a makeshift defense.
52' - More bad news for United fans - Rojo injured himself as he tackled Demichelis. Looks as though he has hurt his shoulder. Paddy McNair is warming up as United staff give him some last minute instructions.
50' - This derby is now turning into City's attack versus United's defense. Wave after wave of City pressure. United just abut holding on.
48' - Rooney turns spectacularly sending two City players in the wrong direction; his through ball for Di Maria is cut out. Great play from the captain!
47' - City immediately put United under pressure as soon as the second half begins.
46' - Here we go..
HALF TIME: Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
45+3'- Controversy right at the end of half time - City's appeal for what looked like a clear penalty was turned down. Rojo clearly brought down Toure inside the box; but the ref thought otherwise and blew his whistle for half time.
45'- City have not been able to take advantage of their one man advantage
42'- Van Gaal will be furious with Smalling for United will have to play majority of this match with 10 men.
39'- Smalling is sent off for a second yellow. Mindless piece of defending from the England international as he lunged at Milner on City's left flank.
38'- RED CARD! Smalling is off!
34'- Jovetic chips a ball behind the defense for Milner. But the England midfielder delivers a wayward cross from inside the box.
32'- Januzaj puts Di Maria through with a beautiful weighted pass. The Argentine takes an extra touch and tries to cross it instead of firing in a shot.
31'- Di Maria delivers the perfect ball but no United player can connect with it. The ball deflected off a couple of players and was collected by Hart.
30'- Zabaleta is late in his tackle on RvP on City's right near the touchline. Free-kick.
28'- Toure takes the resulting free-kick; his effort is well over the cross bar.
27'- Blind tackled Toure from behind in a dangerous area. Free-kick.
24'- After two minutes of action packed minutes, the game has slowed down a bit. United will be relieved to emerge unscathed from that wave of attacks from City.
21'- Incredible from De Gea! The Spaniard denied Navas and Aguero from point-blank range. He has single-handedly kept United in this match.
19'- Fernandinho's lovely long ball had Aguero one-on-one with Rojo. The defender forced the striker away from the goal and the resulting shot from a tough angle was easily saved by De Gea.
17'- Aguero motored past Blind and Rooney; his Argentina teammate Rojo came across quickly but illegally fouled the striker. Free-kick to City.
15'- Lovely interchange of passes from Di Maria Shaw on United's left resulting in room for the left-back to deliver a dangerous cross. Unfortunately, no United player could get on the end of that ball as Zabaleta intercepted.
14'- Januzaj is fouled by Jovetic as the teenager whizzed passed him. No card. Just a word of caution from the ref.
Some advice for Pellegirni from Ferdinand
I cant believe city don't play a 3 in midfield to suit Yaya - giving him licence to get forward no worries about defensive responsibilities

9'- Di Maria's lobbed ball was knocked down by Van Peries with his head to set up Januzaj. The Belgian's weak left foot volley did not trouble Hart.
7'- Aguero easily got past Valencia on the right and fired in a shot that was saved by De Gea. On hindsight, he was better off crossing that ball.
5'- The first five minutes of this derby have been played at a frenzied pace. No clear chances for either team so far.
4'- Navas did well to get away from Shaw but his cross was disappointing and could not find any of his intended targets.
3'- Fellaini fed through a well threaded ball for Robin van Persie; but the striker was ruled off-side.
1'- Here we go...

Manchester football supremacy will be at stake at the Etihad Stadium today when Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United face off in a potentially momentous derby showdown.
City come into this encounter four points above their neighbours in third place in the table -- six points shy of leaders Chelsea -- but recent events suggest the gap may be narrowing.
City have gone three games without victory, falling further behind Chelsea after a 2-1 loss at West Ham United last weekend and then seeing their reign as League Cup holders ended by Newcastle United on Wednesday.
United have been given a further boost by the news that David Silva will miss out for City after sustaining a knee injury against Newcastle that is likely to keep the Spain midfielder out for around three weeks.
Samir Nasri is in line to deputise after making his return following groin surgery against Newcastle, while Yaya Toure is expected to play after a groin scare saw him substituted as a precaution during that game.
United captain Wayne Rooney, the top scorer in Manchester derbies, will make his return after completing a three-match suspension, but fellow striker Falcao remains unavailable due to injury.
