New Delhi: Argentine Martin Demichelis has extended his stay at Manchester City till the summer of 2016 his club announced on Thursday. The central defender has decided to extend his contract for another year under manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The 34-year-old has earlier played for Bayern Munich and Malaga. The Argentina international has made 30 appearances for City in all competitions this season and has played a key role for Manuel Pellegrini’s side as they look to defend their Premier League crown.

Upon signing the new deal, Demichelis said: “I want to say that I am really proud and happy to have extended my contract for another year.
