The 31-year-old made only four starts under manager Louis van Gaal and wanted regular playing time. He had stated that the club tried their best to keep him but he had to find a new team to play more games.
Fletcher was poised to join West Ham United earlier in the transfer window but the deal collapsed. West Brom who were linked with the midfielder then got him to sign a two and a half year contract.
Fletcher will play under manager Tony Pulis and serves as a good addition for the Baggies.
