New Delhi: It's festival time in India as millions celebrate the festival of light, Diwali. To add to the celebrations, Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United have taken to social micro-blogging site, twitter to extend warm wishes to their fans.
Arsenal players Laurent Koscielny, Santi Cazorla, David Ospina and Joel Campbell can be seen lighting 'diyas' with midfielder Mesut Ozil dressed in a traditional attire writing a message.
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany along with his teammates Joe Hart and Sergio Aguero wished the 'Citizens' a very prosperous Diwali in a short video.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand also took to Twitter to wish his fans.
Football has a wide fan-base in India especially the Premier League along with La Liga and the Serie A. In recent years European clubs have travelled to Asia for pre-season tours to connect with fans. India might be a destination in the future as well.
Meanwhile, Indian Super League team Chennaiyin FC wished their fans on Diwali in a fun video. India and Delhi Dynamos striker Robin Singh too posted a video on Twitter to wish fans for the festival.
