Euro 2016: Can Iceland emulate Leicester City's fairytale and go all the way?

Iceland's surprising victory over England shows that more fairytales are to be written, after already witnessing Leicester City's title triumph in the Premier League. The latter was a story that made every football fan believe that the sport is experiencing a shift in power and any team can defeat anyone provided there is belief and passion.

At the start of the Euro 2016, Iceland's Gylfi Sigurdsson had been quotes saying,

"What Leicester did in the Premier League is amazing, and by reaching the final of the European Championships we did something close to it. We're not done yet, and everything is possible. The lads have been working really hard, the coaches have got ideas. We are ready." As reported by TOI

Not many teams would have taken Sigurdsson and co. as a threat going into the tournament. But after knocking out the mighty England, they have asserted the title of 'Dark Horses' of the quadrennial event.

A team full of emotions & belief, backed with loyal fan support can cause major havoc in the tournament. Having already surpassed expectations, their 'nothing to lose attitude' can instill fear in the hearts of opposition.

The smallest nation participating in the tournament now face hosts France, who are also the favorites to go all the way, in the quarter-finals.

A positive result in the next round will be one of the biggest fairytales of all times, while a negative result will not harm Iceland's repute either. Whatever is the result, it will be an enthralling encounter.
