Euro 2016: Italy vs Spain - As it happened...

*Italy knocked out the reigning champions Spain. What a performance from Azzurri. Now Italy will play against Germany in the quarter-finals.  

*FULL TIME - ITALY 2-0 Spain.

*GOAL! ITALY 2-0 Spain. Pelle, drills home on the half-volley from the edge of the six-yard box! 

*Going by the records, Spain now have a best chance to score a goal as they have scored 16 goals in the last 10 minutes of European Championship games, more than any other side in the competition's history.

*First Half - As the first half comes to an end, one can easily say that Azzurri are in pole position to make their way into the next round. 2nd half is expected to be more thrilling. 

*Another world class save from David de Gea. Emanuele Giaccherini drills a shot towards the top corner before the De Gea intervenes. Third outstanding save by the ManU goalkeeper. 

*2nd Yellow card of the match to Nolito as he stepped on Daniele de Rossi's foot in the 42nd minute. ​

*For the records, Spain have conceded their 1st goal in a knockout game of a major tournament for the first time since 2006 vs FRA, 10 years ago.
