Warsaw: Mark van Bommel has voiced his opinion that Netherlands will be difficult to beat at Euro 2012 as long as they come together as a united group.
The holding midfielder feels it is crucial for Oranje to always put the team first, and stressed that the players should sacrifice themselves rather than go for individual glory.
"We have a strong bench. That was also the case during the World Cup, and everyone adjusted, almost in an un-Dutch way, and sacrificed themselves for the team," Van Bommel was quoted as saying on the official Uefa website.
"Everyone was thinking about the team: it doesn`t matter if I don`t play, as long as the team win. And if you have that feeling in a team, then you are almost invincible."
The midfielder then went on to say that Oranje are eager to take the best of several cultures and bring things together into a Dutch mix at the Euros.
"It`s always nice when we get together. For us, it feels a bit like coming home. Everyone takes the culture of their foreign league with them to Holland. And we have to bring that together into a Dutch mix. We want to do things the Dutch way again."
Netherlands start Euro 2012 with the Group B match against Denmark on June 9.
