Lisbon: Joao Moutinho believes that Portugal are fully prepared to face Germany in their Euro 2012 opener on Saturday despite disappointing performances in their recent friendlies.

The Seleccao were held to a goalless draw by Macedonia before suffering a 3-1 defeat to Turkey last weekend, but the Porto midfielder remains optimistic over their chances against Joachim Low`s side.

"We have been working well and we are ready to play against Germany, who have a very strong team, with very strong characteristics, but we have ours, too," Moutinho declared in a press conference.

"The past is worth nothing. We focus on the match against Germany, because the game will be decided by those small details. We want to be strong on the field.

"We have three excellent strikers who will be at their best. Whoever leads the attack against Germany will give his best. That is what we can promise."

Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani will be counted on to provide much of the firepower in attack, but Moutinho insisted that any success will be the result of a group effort.

"Nani and Ronaldo? They are two players who are the top in Europe and even the world," he stated.

"They can break the balance in a game, but as everyone knows, football is a team sport, and they will put their quality at the service of a group and will help us reach our goals."

Meanwhile, Braga midfielder Hugo Viana suggested the previous results were not reflective of their performances and that they will be competitive come Saturday.

"No one is happy with the results in the last two friendlies. But against Turkey, our display was much better than the result.

"I believe we will give a different account of ourselves against Germany, trying to make the result match the quality of our display. With our joy and trust we will be strong to try to get a victory against Germany."
