Stockholm: Former Sweden international striker Henrik Larsson is to return to coach Helsingborg, the club with which he finished his career and where his son now plays, the club announced on Monday.

The 43-year-old former Barcelona and Celtic player, who is a native of Helsingborg, earned 106 caps during his career and reached the semi-finals of the 1994 World Cup with Sweden.

His 17-year-old son Jordan, also a striker, made his debut in the first division with the southern Swedish club last July.

"We`ve talked about it at home, it`s not a problem at all. Everything that happens within the club, everything that I`m going to do there, is in the interests of HIF," said Henrik Larsson.

It will be the third coaching job for Larsson after three seasons with second division Landskrona (2010-2012) and one with Falkenberg, who just missed the drop last season by finishing 13th in the Swedish top flight.

Larsson retired as a player in 2009.
