Ferdinand takes jibe at Capello, backs Redknapp for England

London: England defender Rio Ferdinand has taken a jibe at former England manager Fabio Capello for his poor command over English and backed Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp for England’s managerial job.

The Manchester United defender said on his Twitter account that ‘the national team don`t need anything else lost in translation.’ Capello during his tenure as England boss had been criticized for his poor command over English.

Ferdinand also backed Redknapp for becoming England’s manager and stressed on the need of an English manager.

“We need an English manager now. Harry Redknapp would be my choice by a distance,” he tweeted.
