New Delhi: With 10 days left for the English Premier League season to kick off, United`s players and Louis van Gaal have an interesting time ahead. The manager will be looking to cull down players he feels deemed for United. Several faces that include the likes of Shinji Kagawa, Javier Hernandez, Nani, Anderson and Marouane Fellaini are the pivotal faces that could leave Old Trafford.
The Manchester United squad have touched down in the UK after completing an unbeaten pre-season tour of the US.
After an impressive pre-season, Van Gaal must now decide who has made the grade and earned a place in the Red Devils squad for the forthcoming season. United have just signed two players in Anders Herrera and Luke Shaw and a couple of players are expected to be bought before August 31. The former Netherlands coach had cited earlier he would prefer to have a small squad as the 20-time champions will not participate in Europe this term.
Javier Hernandez who had a good pre-season tour has been linked to Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico. The Mexican has seen very less chances come in the last two seasons and could be heading out. Nani looks fated to join other ranks after Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia impressed the gaffer in USA. Shinji Kagawa may yet stay back but Fellani`s exit has taken a solid grip. The Belgian is regarded as one of the worst transfers for the club in recent times and Napoli are keen for his services.
Wilfred Zaha too will be keen to know his position as youngsters are likely to be given chances and make their way through to the first team.
Van Gaal needs a left back and at least two central defenders along with a midfielder. The next few weeks will see United be busy in the transfer market with players coming and going out.
