London: Former England international Paul Gascoigne's, popularly known as Gazza, ex-best mate Jimmy 'Five Bellies' Gardner is terrified that the former Newcastle United midfielder would die before they have a chance to make up.

Gardner has revealed that the first thing he does every morning is look online to check the former England legend is still alive.

The pair fell out last year after Gazza accused his best friend of betrayal for speaking up publicly and asking him to get help. Recalling the bust up Gardner said that they spoke for just a couple of minutes, adding that Gazza was shouting and bawling as he had been drinking, The Mirror reported.

Following the furious phone call last July Gazza reportedly changed his number and hasn't spoken to his one-time best friend since.

Gardner said that as soon as he opens his eyes each morning he goes on the internet and check the news to see if there is a headline 'Gazza latest...', adding that he dreads it because he knows it won't be good news.

Gardner said that he does it every afternoon as well when he gets home from work to check there's no news, because no news is good news.

Gazza was recently arrested for allegedly lobbing a brick at a van this month and left his 5,00,000 pounds apartment in Sandbanks, Dorset, the report added.
