Accra (South Africa) : The vice-president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Jordan Anagblah has passed away after battling with illness.
He was reported to have been taken to South Africa for treatment and was recovering upon his return to Ghana, but died at the SSNIT Hospital in Accra, the capital of the west African nation on Thursday morning. Anagblah was the head of Ghana’s delegation that won Africa’s first Under-20 World Cup title at Egypt 2009. No official statement has come from the Ghana FA yet, but relatives have confirmed the news to Goal.com. His death comes as a major blow to Ghana football as he was well known to have groomed many young Ghana players, who are now playing key roles in the Black Stars.
