New Delhi: Real Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casillas admitted that he had a love-hate relationship with Jose Mourinho. During the Portuguese's reigns in Madrid, Casillas was reduced to a second choice.
Talking to a Spanish radio station, Casillas reignited the high-profile feud by saying that the current Real manager Calo Ancelotti is better than Mourinho, who is managing Chelsea in England.
"Ancelotti is better than Mourinho. With Mourinho I had a love-hate relationship," he said.
The 33-year-old added, “In his time here I did not speak to him when we were in the same locker room, nor do I think that I have to talk now when he is already managing another team and I’m with my team."
However, the 2010 World Cup winning captain agreed that the Special One deserves appreciation for winning titles with Los Blancos.
“It would be a bit self-seeking and little cowardly on my part. I wish things go very well for him. In the time that he was at Real Madrid, he won titles and you have to give him thanks," Casillas said.
Then, he clarified that he would be glad to meet Mourinho in future.
“If I cross paths with him tomorrow I am going to extend my hand, then it will be up to him if he shakes it. I think he would shake,” Casillas
During his stay at Santiago Bernabeu, Mourinho replaced Casillas – a club legend – with Diego Lopez. But since the arrival of Ancelotti, Casillas has been reinstated to the No.1 spot.
