The first half ended goalless as both sides had well positioned defence. With 57 minutes on the clock, Hannover opened the scoring as striker Didier Ya Konan netted a cross from six meters. With the deficit behind, Monchengladbach took over to turn things around but clinical Hannover doubled the lead through striker Mame Biram Diouf, who headed home a cross in the 76th minute. Monchengladbach midfielder Havard Nordtveit shortened the score only two minutes later when he slotted home from 15-meter central position. Hannover remain unbeaten at home in the current season to seal the 250th Bundesliga win at the sell-out AWD Arena. Monchengladbach stay on fourth position with 51 points while Hannover jump from eighth to fifth position with 41 points. In other match Sunday, Hoffenheim and Schalke share points due to two penalties, one for each side. Hoffenheim midfielder Sejad Salihovic converted a foul penalty into bottom right in the 30th minute while Schalke top striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar levelled the score ten minutes before the final whistle when he converted the second penalty of the match. Hoffenheim stay on tenth position with 34 points meanwhile Schalke defend third position with 54 points to establish a three point gap to chasers Monchengladbach. IANS
