Toronto: Kaka was able to pull on the famous white shirt for the first time in a football match as Real Madrid thrashed Toronto FC 5-1 in their North American pre-season tour.
The Brazilian started the match but was withdrawn at half-time but he had no problems integrating into his new team after only returning from his extended summer holidays less than three weeks ago as he showed glimpses of brilliance.
Despite a positive start to his new playing career, Kaka decided to focus on the team effort instead.
“I am very happy to have made my debut,” he told reporters after the game, “but the important thing is that the team played a really good game and I have already improved.
“I missed a chance to score, but I hope to accomplish that in the upcoming matches. Overall, it was a great day,” he added.
The former AC Milan superstar will be given another chance to shine when Madrid take on DC United on August 9.
