Kolkata: Kerala Blasters midfielder Mehtab Hossain hoped to bring their campaign back on track when they take on troubled Atletico de Kolkata vital in their next Indian Super League fixture, here on Sunday.
"We are creating chances, but not able to score goals. It's a vital match tomorrow. If we win tomorrow we will be confident. But we are not worried. Win, losses are part and parcel of every game," Hossain said.
It's a battle between two teams diametrically opposite in the standings as the laggards KBFC with zero from two matches face leaders Atletico de Kolkata who have 10 from four matches.
The India midfielder said ATK have momentum and they would not be affected by the suspension of their forward Fikru Teferra, coach Antonio Habas and goalkeeping coach.
"Kolkata are really playing well, confidence on a high. Fikru did not score in the last match but Lobo scored and won the match. The team has the confidence and momentum with them. That's something to worry about."
Asked about his ISL experience, Mehtab said this was the way forward in Indian football.
"There're many things to learn from ISL. From the way we should live, the facilities, the game. We are getting exceptional pitches, something we have not had in last 10 years. Grounds are soft, the grass is being watered routinely. All matches are under floodlight. It's a huge change. This is professional football."
It would be for the first time the Kolkata lad would turn up at his home venue as an away player and Mehtab said, "I've had enough offers but never played away in my life. Kolkata feelings is different. I'm still with East Bengal. I've always had either half or full support. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Hoping for the best."
