Kolkata: League leaders Atletico de Kolkata host FC Pune City at the Salt Lake Stadium today.
A day ahead of their game against Atletico de Kolkata, FC Pune City player Kostas Katsouranis said on Thursday that ATK is the best team competing in the ongoing Indian Super League.
"It is not about one man. It is a good team and we have to give our best. ATK is the best team so far in this tournament," Kostas told reporters.
It would be for the first time that Kostas would be playing in an astro turf ground at the Salt Lake stadium here.
"It's not easy to play. I will give my best," the Greece star said.
His teammate Dudu Omagbemi, who also plays for East Bengal, said he is a professional footballer and is not thinking about the old club but about his new team.
He said they try to play in different positions and hoped to get the combination right tomorrow.
Atletico de Kolkata stopper Arnab Mondal on Thursday said their team is focussing on maintaining their pole position in the Indian Super League points table.
"After the first round of games, we want to stay on the top. We will not want Chennaiyin FC to beat us and lose our position, having remained unbeaten so far," Arnab told reporters.
ATK midfielder Ofentse Nato said their team is strengthened after the return of their mercurial forward Fikru Teferra and coach Antonio Habas from suspension.
"You know the difference between an assistant coach and a head coach, when he is not there. It is a welcome boost for our side," Nato said.
When asked about the rotational policy, Arnab said they will continue with rotations as it helps the side when someone is not there.
On technology being introduced to help referees take decision, the stopper welcomed it saying silly mistakes will stop with goalline technology.
Nato also supported if saying technological support is needed.
