A dream South African Top 8 Cup decider is looming after Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates built two-goal semi-finals, first-leg leads this weekend.
Chiefs triumphed 2-0 over title-holders Platinum Stars in Rustenburg and Pirates won by the same score away to Wits University in Johannesburg.
All four goals came after half-time with midfielder George Maluleka scoring twice for Chiefs and defenders Siyabonga Sangweni and Thabo Matlaba on target for Pirates.
The return fixtures are scheduled for August 23 and 24 in Soweto in a competition offering a $760,000 (570,000 euros) winners-take-all prize.
Chiefs and Pirates are the most popular South African football clubs and a sell-out 90,000 crowd is likely if they reach the final and it is staged at Soccer City stadium.
The Top 8 Cup features the top eight finishers from the previous league season.
