Lajong signs Nepal striker

Shillong: Shillong Lajong FC has entered into a three years contract with Anil Gurung of Nepal to

strengthen the teams` forward line. Lajong coach Stanley Rozario said the scoring ability of the team, as of now, was not up to the mark, especially in the last match against Mohan Bagan which the local side lost 1-2. "With Anil on our side, I am confident that he would help improve our conversion rate in the team`s future matches since he is known to be a great finisher," Rozario told reporters last evening during signing of the contract. Having 14 international goals to his name, Anil was a part of Nepal`s national team both in the under-19 and under-23. "I want to give my 100 percent for the team`s success. I also want to be an asset for the team," Anil said. Anil is scheduled to play his first match against Salgaocar in the I-League on November 2 here. Bureau Report
