Lindegaard urges ‘careless’ Man U to stop throwing away CL games

Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has urged his teammates not to throw away games in the Champions League like last season.

London: Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has urged his teammates not to throw away games in the Champions League like last season.
The Manchester United keeper faces Galatasaray on Wednesday at Old Trafford, as the Red Devils start another Champions League campaign. Last season was a nightmare, as they crashed out in the group stage and then in the last 16 of the Europa League. “We have to do better. Anything else will be very disappointing, as it was last season. I think we got too careless,” a daily quoted Lindegaard, as saying. “In a couple of games, especially against Basel at home when we only drew after being 2-0 in front, it was very annoying for us. We cannot afford to do that again this season,” he added. “No matter who you play in the Champions League, it is a special kind of football. The team you are playing are the champions or among the top three in their respective countries and we have to take every assignment very seriously,” he said. ANI
