Lionel Messi is the highest-paid footballer

Paris: Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is the world’s highest-paid footballer, according to France Football magazine.
Messi, who was named world player of the year in January, earns around 33 million euros a year that includes 10.5 million euros as salary, 1.5 million euros as bonuses and 21 million euros through advertising and other endorsements.
The Argentine forward is followed by England’s David Beckham and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Beckham, who now plays for LA galaxy in MLS, pockets 31.5 million euros, a bulk of which comes from various endorsements deals.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the leading goal-scorer in La Liga this season, earns 29.2 million euros that includes 13-million-euro annual salary and 15.5 million euros from other contracts.
Jose Mourinho is the top earner amongst the coaches with 14.8 million euros followed by Carlo Ancelloti (13.5 million euros).
