In a statement Liverpool said the club was saddened at news of the passing of 29-year-old Jones`s son following a 18-month long battle with leukaemia. Luca passed away Friday night. "The thoughts of everybody at LFC are with Brad, his partner Dani, and their family and friends at this very sad time," the statement said. The Socceroos goalkeeper left the Australian team on the eve of last year`s World Cup in South Africa after finding out the seriousness of his son`s condition. Jones` former club Middlesbrough paid rich tribute by wearing black armbands during Saturday night`s match in memory of Luca. Socceroos star Tim Cahill sent out a message of condolence on Twitter. "Thoughts and prayers to Brad Jones and family. Rest in peace Luca u beautiful Angel. Itsnotfair," he said. Jones joined Liverpool in 2010, but has only made two appearances for the English Premier League club and is currently on loan to Derby County. IANS
