Moscow: Lokomotiv Moscow missed the chance to move into second spot in the Russian Premier League when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Terek Grozny on Sunday.
Lokomotiv remain in third place, four points behind leaders CSKA Moscow who beat Spartak 2-1 on Friday to maintain their perfect start to the season.
Reigning champions Zenit St Petersburg, who suffered a 2-0 defeat to FC Krasnodar on Saturday, are in second place, three points behind CSKA.
"It`s very difficult to play against teams that come to Moscow hoping to play out a goalless draw," said Lokomotiv manager Igor Cherevchenko.
Lokomotiv believed they should have had a penalty in the 83rd minute when Terek`s Brazilian defender Rodolfo brought down Petar Skuletic.
But referee Vladislav Bezborodov ignored Lokomotiv`s penalty claims.
"The draw is a good result as every single point is precious for us," said Terek head coach Rashid Rakhimov.
Dynamo Moscow beat Ural Yekaterinburg 1-0 courtesy of a goal on the hour mark by defender Georgy Morozov.
