Lowly Real Murcia hold Real Madrid in King`s Cup

Madrid: Real Murcia, from Spain`s Segunda B (third tier), held La Liga leaders Real Madrid to a 0-0 draw in a King`s Cup last 32 first leg.

Madrid coach Jose Mourinho fielded a changed side at the Nueva Condomina but still included the likes of Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo to make sure there was no repeat of last season`s 4-0 humbling against third-tier Alcorcon.

The visitors, making their first appearance in the competition this season, dominated but were unable to unlock a Murcia side, who like Real, are unbeaten this year.

The return leg at the Bernabeu is scheduled for Nov. 8.

Later on Tuesday, Barcelona were visiting Segunda B`s Ceuta. The other 14 first-round matches are being played on Wednesday and Thursday.
