Paris: Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc on Friday hailed as `magnifique` the spectacular goal by Irishwoman Stephanie Roche which now sees her challenging James Rodriguez and Robin van Persie for the Goal of the Year award.
"It`s beautiful, magnificent, pity there wasn`t more of an atmosphere (crowd) to celebrate it a bit more," said former France international Blanc when shown the goal by a journalist during PSG`s press conference.
"I don`t know if she`s going to win the prize, we`ll see, but her goal is very beautiful, if it had been in a Champions League final (women) or in a match with 100,000 spectators it would have caused a sensation."
The 25-year-old blonde centrepiece of Ireland`s women`s attack is an 800 euro ($1,000) a month professional with Albi in the French women`s league.
She is now dreaming of maybe meeting $80 million a year Cristiano Ronaldo at the award ceremony.
The goals of Colombian Rodriguez and Dutchman Van Persie during the World Cup also made the final, following a vote of internet users, who can still vote with the winner announced on January 12.
