Mumbai: With their title hopes all but over after two back-to-back defeats, Mahindra United would look to end their losing streak when they face Pune FC in a round 23 I-League clash at the Cooperage ground.

Not long ago, Mahindra were at pole position but they threw away the advantage by managing just one point in three games as they drew 0-0 in a derby clash against Mumbai FC before consecutive defeats against Shillong Lajong (1-2) and Mohun Bagan (1-3).

Currently, Mahindra are seven points adrift of leaders Dempo, having accumulated 37 points in 22 matches with the help of nine wins and 10 draws.

With only four matches in hand, they need a miracle to dash the Goan club`s hopes though a win against I-League debutants Pune FC would be a right step in that direction.

The visitors, who are the surprise package of the tournament, have shown that they can`t be taken lightly by any side.

Pune FC, who defeated Viva Kerala 3-1 in their previous match, have done well to cement their place in the top-half of the table and would aim a top-5 finish when the tournament ends. They have accumulated 31 points in 21 matches with the help of seven wins and 10 draws.

The first leg match between the two teams had ended in a goalless draw.
