Man City ends Everton`s unbeaten Premier League start

London: Manchester City came back with a bang from their Champions League humbling by Bayern Munich by beating Everton 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, ending Everton`s unbeaten start in the English league.

An impressive finish by City player Alvaro Negredo from Yaya Toure`s pass and his teammate Sergio Aguero`s low strike led City to a 2-1 lead at the Etihad stadium, with Aguero`s penalty, which went in off Tim Howard`s head, sealing the win.

Meanwhile Romelu Lukaku scored for Everton in the first half of the match.

According to the BBC, the spot-kick, awarded after Everton`s Seamus Coleman tangled with City player Pablo Zabaleta , was credited as an own goal to Coleman`s teammate Howard after the ball hit the diving goalkeeper and crossed the line after initially striking the post.

The report mentioned that the win is City`s fourth consecutive home league victory and was a much-needed boost after the painful 3-1 defeat by Bayern on Wednesday and last week`s shock league loss to Aston Villa.
