Manchester City to offer 44 mn pounds deal to Aguero to keep off suitors

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is reportedly set to be offered a new five-year contract worth 44 million pounds by his club.

London: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is reportedly set to be offered a new five-year contract worth 44 million pounds by his club in the summer to put him out of the reach of suitors like Real Madrid.
The Argentinean player, who still has three years remaining on his current contract, was bought by City in a 38 million-pound move from Atletico Madrid two years ago, although they value him at 50 million pounds-plus. City`s move is a strategic policy to keep its key players, after having already secured Yaya Toure, David Silva and Vincent Kompany on long deals, adding that Aguero also falls in that category as he had scored the goal which clinched the Premier League title for the club last season. Confident about Aguero`s future in the club despite his break-up with partner and Diego Maradona’s daughter Giannina, although City will keep Aguero`s basic pay similar at 170,000 pounds-a-week in the proposed new deal but he would have that deal extended by two years. Aguero will go into today’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Wembley, having scored another breathtaking goal to win the derby at Old Trafford last Monday night. ANI
