London: Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has suffered a hamstring injury and will miss the opening game of the season against Swansea City on Saturday, the club announced Wednesday.

The England international, a pre-season signing from Southampton, is likely to be sidelined for around four weeks. The 19-year-old former Saints star missed the 2-1 friendly victory against Valencia at Old Trafford on Tuesday due to the problem and now faces a frustrating wait before making his competitive debut for the club.
