Maritimo beats Beira Mar 2-1 in Portugal

Lisbon (Portugal): Maritimo moved into fourth place in the Portuguese league through a 2-1 win at Beira Mar on Saturday.

Forward Leocifio Sami gave Maritimo the lead with his 18th-minute opener off a cross from Rafael Miranda, and Danilo Dias added a second goal to secure the win in the 67th.

Chengdong Zhang pulled one back for Beira Mar in the 79th, but Maritimo held on for the victory that lifted it one point ahead of Sporting Lisbon in the league table.

On Friday, Leiria drew 0-0 at Academica.

League leader Benfica hosts Gil Vicente on Sunday, while FC Porto faces Guimaraes.

Sporting visits Olhanense on Monday.
