Meet the `one-legged` teen footballer who had climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro on crutches when 13!

Washington: A teenaged American footballer, who was born with just one leg, is reportedly the subject of a mini-documentary, produced by Powerade, because of his inspiring life story.

19-year-old Nico Calabria, who played varsity soccer for his high school and scored a goal that became a viral highlight despite his disability, became the first person to scale Mt. Kilimanjaro on crutches when he was just 13 and raised more than 100,000 dollars for charity in the process. According to Mashable, Calabria, who is a member of the USA`s national amputee soccer team, will be the subject of the Powerade-produced documentary that was shown at the Kicking and Screening Soccer Film Festival in New York. Calabria said that it took years for him to realise that the active lifestyle he enjoyed as a child and excelled at was anything out of the ordinary, although he admitted that he continually surprised himself with the level he was able to compete at. The report mentioned that in his senior year, Calabria, while using the crutches that let him move about the field, scored an incredible over-the-head goal off a corner kick that went viral, which caught the attention of Powerade, among other companies. In November, Calabria will don the red, white and blue to represent the USA at the Amputee Football World Cup, which takes place in Mexico this year, the report added.
