Mexico City: A criminal complaint has been filed against the coach of a football club in Mexico for allegedly punching a photographer who had clicked his pictures.

Tomas Boy, coach of the Morelia Monarcas club, punched Victor Rojas, a photographer for the Sintesis newspaper, in the face, witnesses said.

Rojas clicked Boy`s photos as he arrived at the Los Olivos training complex in Puebla state.

The club`s public relations chief Mario Mendoza managed to separate the two. Rojas later filed a criminal complaint with the state attorney general`s office.

Boy, who was on the Mexican national team that reached the quarterfinals of the 1986 World Cup, is known for confrontations with fellow coaches and players.
