Midfielder Nilton plays down summer move

Rio de Janeiro: Midfielder Nilton has played down a possible move to Europe this summer.

Reports have linked the Brazilian with a transfer to Liverpool and Internazionale, but the 26-year-old insists his focus is on helping Cruzeiro defend their Brazilian Serie A title, reported Xinhua. "This has been going on since last year, with teams from Spain, Italy and France," he told Brazilian sports portal Globoesporte. "It`s nice to get recognition. My agent Vagner Ribeiro has told me that there will be speculation but nothing has come as yet. "When it does, I`ll let you know. I have a year-and-a-half on my contract. I don`t hide that I dream of playing in Europe, but my dream at the moment is here at Cruzeiro. I want to win the Libertadores and the Brazilian league again." Nilton was key to the Belo Horizonte club`s triumph last season and was named in the Campeonato Brasileiro`s team of the year.
