Madrid: Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has said coach Jose Mourinho would remain with the football club till the end of the season.
Ronaldo was speaking ahead of Wednesday night`s Champions League tie against CSKA Moscow in which Madrid are favourites to qualify for the quarter-finals following a 1-1 draw in Russia three weeks ago.
Recent weeks have seen rumours, fuelled by a trip to London, that Jose Mourinho could abandon the club at the end of the current season, but when asked about that prospect, Ronaldo was clear in his reply.
"Mourinho is going to continue with us," he said, before praising the coach, who is in his second season with Real Madrid.
"I learn every season and I am very happy to be with this coach," said Ronaldo, who did, however stress that, "Real Madrid is more important that Mourinho or I am."
Ronaldo also ruled out his own move to AC Milan whose owner Silvio Berlusconi said he dreamed of having the Portuguese international in the Italian club.
"If Mr Berlusconi has had dreams, all I can tell him is that I am very happy here. The Italian league is not the league that I like the most, but I respect it and the teams there are difficult to beat," he added.
Ronaldo was also asked about Barcelona`s Lionel Messi, who last week became the first footballer in history to score five goals in a single Champions League match as Barca reached the quarter-finals of the competition with a 7-1 home win against Bayer Leverkusen, Xinhua reports.
"I don`t care what other players do, I care about my team. Goals don`t say a lot to me, if I score then that`s good, but the main thing is the game. I am happy for Messi`s five goals and so is football in general. I don`t know whether I will be able to do the same one day," commented Ronaldo.
