London: Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly made up with Roman Abramovich and could be close to a Chelsea return as manager.
The Special One as Mourinho is referred to in international football circles because of tactical brilliance as a manager.
If an agreement between the two is reached, Mourinho will be rejoining Chelsea after a gap of six years.
Mourinho and Abramovich have reached a provisional agreement for him to take over from interim coach Rafa Benitez this summer on a three-year contract.
Significant stumbling blocks still exist, but are being ironed out.
However, if the agreement does not come through, Abramovich is likely to rope in the services of Dutch veteran Guus Hiddink.
