New Delhi: Uruguayans are the proud 15-time champions of South America, a continent which still continues to dominate the world football despite the presence of European powerhouses.
But on Monday morning, the Uruguayan players were left utterly confused as they were treated to Chile`s national anthem ahead of their Copa America Centenario Group C clash with Mexico in Arizona.

After Mexico players reveled in their national anthem, Uruguyans were waiting for their "Orientales, La Patria O La Tumba!", but instead the PA system at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale played out "Himno Nacional Mexicano".
If it was not enough a humiliation, Uruguay suffered a 1-3 defeat to Mexico in an not-so smooth match, which witnessed both the sides losing one player each.
