Kolkata: Mohun Bagan would be doubly cautious when they take on United Sports Club in their return-leg I-League fixture here on Sunday.
Having suffered a defeat to Sporting Clube de Goa in their previous round fixture, fourth-placed Bagan would be keen to arrest their slump to keep their title hopes alive.
But in United SC, they face a tricky opposition as the heavyweights are yet to win against the local challengers this season.
That United SC had ripped Bagan`s defence with aplomb in their 3-2 rout would definitely rankle the green and maroon brigade.
With Rakesh Masih suspended, the Bagan thinktank would have a challenge ahead to rearrange their defence, while picking the three foreigners would also be a tricky task.
It remains to be seen whether they would bench veteran Jose Barreto, bringing in Australian defender Daniel Zeleny along with mideo Hudson Lima and ace striker Odafa Okolie.
Barreto, incidentally, was conspicuous by his absence in the day`s practice, even as the team officials said he was "rested".
With 11 more matches ahead, both Bagan (27) and seventh-placed United SC (25) are in title race, thus promising Sunday`s match to be a intense battle.
