Pune FC sign up Edathodika, Baldeep

Pune: Pune Football Club have signed up Anas Edathodika and Baldeep Singh to strengthen their mid-field for the forthcoming 2011-2012 season.

Edathodika, who played an integral part in spearheading Mumbai FC in the last four seasons, has signed a two-year contract (until 2013).

During Edathodika`s association with Mumbai FC, the club was promoted to the elite I-League from second division.

Baldeep, who earned India cap last year, switched over from I-League champions Salgaocar SC and is currently preparing with India`s national side for the pre-World Cup qualifier (vs UAE) in New Delhi.

"We have been tracking Anas`s progress since the last two years and we are glad that he has signed a two-year contract," said PFC`s Head of Operations, Chirag Tanna.

On Baldeep, Tanna added, "he (Baldeep) is an excellent player and his experience is what we seek in the coming season."
