Kolkata: Winless from 11 matches, Pailan Arrows will be desperate to log full points and go all out against Pune FC in a crucial 12th round I-League clash at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Thursday.
On six points, all courtesy drawn matches, the Arrows side, lying on the 13th position in the 14-team table, will look not to slip further.
Coach Sujit Chakraborty and technical director Sukhwinder Singh stressed on the importance of the match as this is the penultimate round in the first leg of the I-League.
"We know the importance of the match. The first phase of the League is coming to an end and it`s our home match," Sukhwinder said.
The Arrows did have a good outing in the Federation Cup where they won their first two matches -- against HAL and Mumbai FC -- but since then it has been a difficult phase for them.
Currently seventh on the league table, Pune FC (18) will be watchful against the inexperienced local challengers who have proved themselves to be a tough side at home logging five of the six points at YBK.
"They (Arrows) are young and fit side and have a fair mix of good players with some still in the process of gaining experience," Pune FC coach Derrick Pereira said.
Pune FC go into the match with two omissions from the previous outing with Ganeshan and Rollingson Hungyo making way for Baldeep Singh and Anas Edathodika.
Baldeep has recovered from fever, while Anas returns after a one-match suspension.
It will be a first for goalkeeper Abhra Mondal in Kolkata ever since he moved to Pune FC `on loan`.
