New Delhi: Colombia star Radamel Falcao has been a prime subject of summer transfer speculation and according to latest reports in the Daily Mirror, the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid striker is nearing a seasonal long loan move to Premier League champions Chelsea.

According to reports on Monday, Falcao has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, leaving the champions just needing to agree a financial package with his parent club Monaco for the striker.

Falcao who had earlier showed his desire to stay in England, will join Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge with whom he has earlier played for Atletico. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had stated that he will be happy to help Falcao reach his goal scoring touch to signal an interest in the classy striker.

According to reports in England earlier, Falcao has been ready to take a big cut in his wages to get loan deal with a view of permanent move in the clause as he is keen to stay at a top club.

Falcao who plied his trade at Manchester United in the 2014-15 season on loan had a disappointing spell after scoring just four goals in 29 appearences. Falcao's poor form prompted Louis van Gaal to not renew the deal and the Colombian went back to parent club Monaco.

Falcao is currently playing in the Copa America with Colombia and a movement to either Blues or Reds could happen after the South American tourney.

In between rumours had surfaced that rivals Liverpool were interested in getting a loan deal for Falcao to strengthen their forward line which already has Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and new signing Danny Ings. But it looks likely that the Colombian will join Chelsea and look to resurrect his career under Jose Mourinho.
