New Delhi: The season is only half-way but Real Madrid have already notched up 100-goal mark. Helping Los Blancos achieve the milestone are their famed BBC trio of (Gerath) Bale, (Karim) Benzema and Cristiano (Ronaldo).
On Saturday, Gerath Bale scored from the spot at Cordoba to mark their 100th goal of the season. It was Real Madrid's 64th goal in La Liga, and personally, 14th for the the Wales winger. Their tally of 64 strikes is well ahead of the other leaders in Europe's top leagues.
Chelsea, who have benefitted from the arrival of Diego Costa, have 52 goals from 22 games in England. In France, Olympique de Lyon have so far scored 45 times in 22 outings. Serie A leaders Juventus have scored 42 times in 20 matches, while Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich have managed to score 41 times 17 games so far.
World Player of the Year, Ronaldo is the leading contributer with 36 goals, followed by Benzema (15), Bale (14) and James Rodriguez (10). Surprisingly, Spanish defender Sergio Ramos also contributed with five goals, one more than Isco (4). Javier Hernandez, who arrived on loan from Manchester United has four goals under his belt.
Their goal tally is bound to increase with another 18 matches still remaining in the league. Besides, they have European campaign to count to.
