London: Spanish champion Real Madrid is planning an audacious bid, worth 30 million pounds, for Tottenham Hotspurs target Luka Modric, who is also a target for fellow Premier League club Manchester United.
The Croatian midfielder`s move to the Bernabeu would give Spurs’ new manager funds to move in the transfer market, reports said.
It is understood that Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has given a go ahead to the club officials for pressing to sign Modric.
Modric wants to leave White Hart Lane for Champions League football but Spurs, who don’t have a manager currently, don’t want to lose the key player of their midfield but might not be able to resist a second summer of bids.
