Real Madrid win ECA's European club of 2014 award

2014 Champions League winners, Real Madrid were awarded the best European club prize for 2014 by the European Club Association. The Los Blancos also won an award for the best social project.

Real Madrid win ECA's European club of 2014 award

New Delhi: 2014 Champions League winners, Real Madrid were awarded the best European club prize for 2014 by the European Club Association. The Los Blancos also won an award for the best social project.

The club confirmed this news through their official account on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The best club award was the ECA's recognition of the club's performance on the pitch, which included Real winning "La Decima". The award for the social project was for Real Madrid Foundation' initiative, El Gallinero.

El Gallinero is a social initiative of the club aimed at building an inclusive society by making sure no minors are marginalized by integrating them through socially orientated football and basketball schools.

On behalf of the Real Madrid, Pedro Lopez, third vice-chairman, and Emilio Butragueno, director of institutional relations, collected the awards at the event, which was held in Geneva as part of the ECA's General Meeting.
