Rio De Janeiro: Former Brazil football star Robinho is close to returning to his former club Santos on a year-long loan from Italian giants AC Milan.
The Brazilian outfit has reportedly offered the 30-year-old a monthly salary of $220,000 plus bonuses for marketing and image rights, reports Xinhua. "There has been considerable progress in negotiations, now we just have to finalise details," the winger`s lawyer Marisa Alija Ramos told Lancenet. Robinho guided Santos to the 2002 Brazilian championship with a dazzling debut season as an 18-year-old. He again played an important role in the club`s 2004 league triumph before being sold to Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2005. The former Brazil international returned on a six-month loan in 2010, guiding the club to the Copa do Brasil title.
