Rooney says Man City winning EPL doesn’t illustrate domination

London: Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has sneered at rival Manchester City’s Premier League triumph by dismissing claims that City dominated the league, and suggested City just won on goal difference.

Rooney has fanned flames ahead of next season by dismissing the Blues’ success.

“Everyone’s been saying how well City have played and how they’ve dominated the Premier League. But they’ve done it on goal difference,” The Daily Star quoted Rooney, as saying.

Rooney said United should feel proud because they fought till the end, and expressed confidence that they would come back stronger in the next season.

“We can hold our heads up high because we pushed City all the way. We’ll be back, there are no worries about that. We will be back stronger and better than ever,” he said.
