Rooney says ‘Man U back in business’ following PL win over Man City

London: Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney says his team has served a reminder on neighbours Manchester City that they are back in business.
Rooney believes United’s 3-2 victory on Sunday was the perfect response to the taunts they received from City fans following last season’s title blow-up. “Obviously we took a bit of stick before and during the game from the City fans, so it was great to remind them who we are and what we are about – and it was great for our fans too,” the Daily Express quoted Rooney, as saying. “We’ve waited a long time for this to happen. It’s right up there [as my best derby]. They’ve had a great record at the Etihad Stadium and to spoil that is a great feeling,” he added. According to the report, Rooney scored twice to overhaul Sir Bobby Charlton and become United’s record scorer in derby matches and only the seventh player to reach the 150-goal mark in the Premier League. “I was a bit disappointed that we threw away a two-goal lead and it looked like it was going to end in a draw, but the goal at the end was a bit of magic from Robin van Persie and it sparked great celebrations from fans, players and the coaches,” he said. It was a great game for the Premier League, great action end to end but a bit tough at times,” he added. ANI
