Algerian international left-back Faouzi Ghoulam is set to leave Saint-Etienne for Napoli, the French club announced on Thursday.
"Faouzi has gone to Naples for a medical. An agreement must still be reached," a Saint-Etienne spokesman told AFP, although the transfer fee is expected to be just over five million euros ($6.8m). As Ghoulam prepares to join a Napoli side who lie third in Serie A, Saint-Etienne will look to replace him with the 28-year-old Benoit Tremoulinas. The former Bordeaux player joined Dynamo Kiev last summer but has also been linked with a return to his old club this month. Meanwhile, Saint-Etienne say their highly-rated young defender Kurt Zouma, who has been watched by leading clubs in England, will be going nowhere in the January transfer window.
