New Delhi: Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas will make his 150th European appearance for the club on Wednesday night. The defending European champions will travel to Germany for their UEFA Champions League round of 16 match against Schalke 04. He will equal Liverpool's Jamie Carragher as the latest player to reach the landmark.

After the match, the Spanish goal-keeper will move to joint-seventh on the all-time list of most European games. Inter Milan legend Paolo Maldini played a record 173 times for the the Italian giants. Currently, Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez, with 163 matches, is the only active player ahead Casillas.

The list also has Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez at third with 161, Clalence Seedorf at fourth with 160, Javier Zanetti at fifth with 160, Ryan Giggs at sixth with 157.

In his 149 European games, Casillas has won three Champions League titles. If he manages to keep another clean-sheet today, Spain's world cup winning captain will reach 50 matches without conceding in European competition, one behind Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar's record 51.
